Panneerselvam has ordered removal of Chennai city police commissioner S George, sources say


Caretaker Tamil Nadu chief minister O Panneerselvam on Thursday ordered transfer of Chennai city police commissioner S George. Sanjay Arora will be the new city police commissioner.


Panneerselvam ordered the change after a meeting with chief secretary Girija Vaidyanathan and DGP TK Rajendran, according sources.
An official order from the chief secretary or the home secretary is expected soon.


The sources said the chief secretary might seek the Governor's nod before issuing the order.

Solar eclipse today  Annual solar eclipse would occur on February 26 (Sunday) which would be visible along a narrow path stretching from the southern tip of South America to Angola in Africa. People of the surrounding areas will see a partial solar eclipse, an astrological expert informed this agency, adding that the solar eclipse is at 8 degrees Pisces and no chances to be visible in Pakistan.
